Arab Voluntary Union Signs Protocol at World Youth Forum Volunteer Platform

The Arab Voluntary Union, represented by Mr. Hassan Mohamed Buhazaa, signed a protocol for the World Youth Forum's volunteer platform. The Forum's administration announced the launch of a "World Youth Forum Volunteer Platform," which will serve as a meeting point for volunteers, aiming to promote a culture of volunteering, support and qualify volunteers, and enhance their capabilities to participate in development and charitable work. The platform will target poor and affected countries, whether due to wars, conflicts, or climate impacts. The initiative will also implement several volunteer exchange programs between different countries, in cooperation with the Decent Life Initiative, the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, the Arab Voluntary Union, and the United Nations Volunteers program.

The conference witnessed extensive international attendance from representatives of international bodies, institutions, and organizations in Egypt, including Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, Alessandro Fracassetti, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Egypt, Eric Ochlan, Director of the International Labour Organization Cairo, Nasr al-Din Haj, FAO Egypt Representative, Dr. Naeima Al-Jasser, Representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt, Carlos Oliver, Head of the International Organization for Migration Mission in Egypt.

Also in attendance were Christine Arab, Representative of UN Women in Egypt, Frederica Meijer, Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Egypt, Heba Nasr, Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers Programme in Egypt, Jeremy Hopkins, Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in Egypt, John Sollikeri, Representative of the UNHCR in Egypt, as well as the Director of the UNESCO Office in Egypt, and the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in Egypt, and a number of other directors of UN offices in Egypt.

The conference was also attended by the Board of Trustees and members of the National Dialogue, editors-in-chief of Egyptian newspapers and channels, a number of opinion writers and senior media figures, and a large number of representatives from Arab, African, and foreign newspapers and channels.

It is worth noting that since its launch in its first edition in 2017, and throughout the previous four editions, the Forum has aimed to send a message of peace and prosperity from Egypt to the world, by discussing global issues, proposing recommendations, and implementing numerous initiatives and projects on the ground. The United Nations Social Development Committee has adopted the World Youth Forum in Egypt as an international platform for discussing youth issues.
