His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award to Honor Arab Pioneers of Volunteer Work

The Good Word Society launched the His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award to honor Arab pioneers of volunteer work in 2011 to coincide with the Arab Volunteer Day, celebrated annually on September 15th.

This award is organized in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Union and the League of Arab States. In 2017, the seventh edition of the award was hosted at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, affirming the award's distinguished and prestigious status and its important role in encouraging and developing voluntary work.

Vision

To promote and foster a culture of volunteerism and to stimulate innovative and exceptional voluntary initiatives across the Arab world.

Mission

To highlight exemplary models of voluntary work leaders in the Arab world and to showcase the inspiring success stories of the younger generation.

Objectives

  • To honor pioneers of voluntary work in the Arab world and to put their expertise and projects in the spotlight for volunteers from all Arab countries.

  • To promote a culture of volunteerism and highlight its role in the comprehensive development of Gulf and Arab communities, and to contribute to the development of voluntary work in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

  • To support the development goals and programs of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain within the framework of the reform project and Bahrain Vision 2030.

  • To strengthen the principle of effective partnership with organizations, bodies, institutions, and voluntary associations and to support the corporate social responsibility efforts of the private sector.

  • To contribute to directing the energies of Arab youth to serve their communities and to develop the capacities, talents, and creativity of volunteers.

  • To pass on the love of voluntary work by deepening communication between those with a voluntary footprint and different generations.

  • To transfer various voluntary experiences to the target groups, leading to placing volunteers in work that suits their inclinations, specializations, and ages, while providing an opportunity to benefit from their opinions on these experiences.

  • To enhance the spirit of fair competition among voluntary associations and centers in the Arab world.
